After conducting extensive research that showed decreased consideration among teens, Coca-Cola approached IDL with the challenge of ideating and executing a marketing campaign that reached teens in a new and different way. Under a condensed timeline and with scalability as a priority, IDL was challenged to quickly design, prototype, produce and install a customizable beverage experience for teens that could be repeated in markets globally.

Data shows that teens invest more in experiences over things, so the concept was rooted in considering Coke as an occasion rather than a product. IDL piloted a Soda Shoppe that was revealed at the Mall of Georgia, a concept that paid homage to the brand’s deep heritage in a modern light. The experience was housed within a shipping container that unfolded to reveal a Coca-Cola brand experience complete with shareable moments and “Coke-tails” for visiting teens.
